Ringing mobile, it just beeps.

Hi guys,

I tried ringing a mobile number today, and it just beeps constantly. No ringing or voicemail.

Does that mean the line/number isn't active? Or could it simply be the phone is off?

What does your screen say?

Sounds like its an unrecognised number, in fact it actually sounds like network busy but if your other calls are ok then I doubt it.

Its a hard question as some networks have different switch manufacturers and they all return different tones to the subscriber.
