RoadAngel 2

  307 diesel & 1.2 TCE Clio

Hi,

Those of you who have RoadAngels, are you using the external Aerial cos of the reflecting windscreen? If so, where have you mounted it and how did you run the wires through? Also does the laser detector work through the screen?

Ant

it works without the ariel in the cut out bit at the bottom of the screen (nowhere else without the ariel thought), but sometimes it can play up, but the laser will probably be blocked by the wiper blades in this position

Hi Ant, I have a Road Angel 2 which is in my 182,i found that the only way i could get it to work was with the extension aerial.Road Angel themselves told me that with the screen having the uv film in it this would be the only way. I got the 5m one from them priced at about £20 - £25 and posistiond it at the bottom of the rear off side side window, running the wire under the kick panel. The laser detector part will work if you position the unit so it looks through the square un-coated part of the screen. (bottom centre) somewhere on here there is a thread of someone positioning the unit by the side of the rear parcel shelf.

I have a 182 with a RA2 fitted, I made a bit of a bracket to hold the RA2 in the position shown by 182blue, as the original bracket doesnt quite do the job.

Works perfectly now and it does detect lasers as the sensor is just under the windscreen wiper.
