Roadside Assist

  RenaultSport clio 182
Do Renault Clio's (just bought 18 month old 182) come with 3 years roadside assist ?

If so, how do you contact them if needed, are there any limitations like not covering you from home ?

Yeah 3 years AA assist on UK models and most imports . As long as the car isn't imported from Cyprus or Holland .

If your unsure if yours is imported call Renault customer service on this number with your VIN number or reg number and they will tell you .

And on the back of the card -

Under the terms of Renault Assistance, you are not covered for non-warranty incidents. These include changing tyres, incorrect fuel, out of fuel, broken or lost keys, lock-outs and accidents, and you will be charged for assistance or recovery.

Checked with Customer Assistance, it turns out to be an import from Cypres, not covered by Roadside Assist.

Since I bought from Camden Motors in Dunstable, a main Renault Dealer, and they did not inform me that it was an import, I am going to go back now and have a few words.

Thanks for your help.

Tell them that your not happy as they must have known it is an import with them being a Renault dealer . I'm assuming that ren cust services informed you that you don't get the full 3 year warranty with a cypriot import Al ?

I'd be fcuking fuming to be honest .

You can add cover for those things for £50 for the three years.

Lee- Yeah it says that on the back of the card aswell that you have to pay for more cover.

Mr Billy - Yes i got a card in the handbook pack, i made sure everything(well nearly everything) that was supposed to be in there was there, it also helps when you have had Renaults before and your brother has had 182's aswell.

Al 182 - i am with MrBilly on this one i would be fuming aswell, don't know what you paid, but if it was from a main dealer they would more then likely have inflated the price a bit, take it back and demand a full refund and maybe report them, they should have known it was an import when they took the car in themselves by checking it's details.

Did you get to see the V5, it would have been on the front cover whether it was an import or not, a quick look and you may miss the writing and most likely blank details for engine number etc, when i bought my 182 i asked numerous times if it as an import and carried out my own checks aswell.

Demand your money back and maybe buy one of here or pistonheads, there are plenty of decent uk 182's about for the money.
