Rocking Seats

Ive tried searching through the old threads looking for one that Ive seen regarding the front seats in a 172 rocking backwards and forwards and that its the seat runners that need replacing.

Mines going in for its first service and Id like to get the rocking solved at the same time, Ive asked the dealer to sort it, I told them it would be the seat runners and that other people have suffered this and had it cured by replacing them, can anyone confirm this or point me in the direction of the other thread.

Cheers

I had new runners 3 weeks after getting mine to stop that Pete. It was fine for a few weeks after that but now the passenger seat moves around a lot again.

I think it was said at the time that finding something to squeeze the runners in fixed it, but obviously made it harder to slide the seat backwards and forwards.

Cheers, I found the thread about sqeazing the runners. Ill see what happens when it goes in for its service, Ive asked them to replace them, just have to see if they try and charge for them!

When I pointed it out on mine, at 3 weeks old, the service guy said, "theyll be tight if we replace them". Which is what I wanted. He then said "Its not as bad as our courtesy cars". Well its not one of there cars its my 3 week old 172!! Then finally he said "it seems okay to me" to which I replied "you are sat in it, thats why".

Idiots. They did it anyway.
