Roll Cage

i am after gettin a roll cage for my 172 cup but wondered if they did one that enabled me to keep the rear seats in!! for track use the rear seats would come out and therefor the cross bar could go on but i wondered if there was a cage that would hav the cross bar that is removable for everyday use?? so the outer cage would always be in place??

Mark Fish does a Safety DEvice one (i think its exclusive to him).

I had it in my old 182, and liek you say, allows you to use the car as normal, then pop the rear cross bar in, and the door bars, and its ready for track.

i would rather do it properly the first time round so i wanna do a full cage but one that i can remove the rear cross bar to allow me to take rear passengers

Nope, that's the Caged one. No drilling, or welding. If you have a 182 bench rear seat, you can leave that in with this cage. The diagonal isn't removable though.

ok, here it is...

As you can see from these pics, full 6 point bolt in cage (havent put interior back in yet!)

and then in these pics you can see where door bars and rear bars are out, which leaves plenty of room for back seat passengers:

IMO only get a cage if your going to get a proper cage like that as such.

k-tec roll cage is the only one you can fit that allows you to keep the back seats. look in media section or search my posts for 'mods for 172'

ummm.... look at the pics above of my old Mark Fish Safety DEvices cage! That allows rear seats as you can see.

Also, if were talking of k-tec's crome cage, that isnt a proper cage!

mark fish hasn't even got a website running. if had known or seen pics i might have bought one. i don't think the k-tec one will be in my car long.
