Ron98 map RPM limit

Could anyone tell me the RPM limit on a RON98 map from Fastchip.

I have my RS tuner coming and will be buying licence and emailing Henk but wanted to increase RPM for my new ARP bolts.

Just wondered if it was in the generic map already or if you have to request this when you order.

Thank you

7500rpm is the normal one.

My girlfriends daily has ARP rod and head bolts and supertech valves and has been fine revving to a 7850rpm limit for quite a while now.
Not sure I would risk it on a totally stock engine though.

Is that the ARP stud kit for the head? Is it the followers that are mostly likely to fail?

I wanted 7800rpm and then push a little higher with head mods.

Ill have to request higher RPM then when I get my licence and map tomorrow.

She has ARP rod bolts, and ARP stud and nut kit to replace the head bolts.

Most likely things to fail are:
Standard valves
Standard rod bolts

You will need much hotter than standard cams to get it working well at over 7800rpm irrelevant of what you do to the head.

Pointless having an RS tuner map if you are then going to alter things like head mods or cams, as the map will then be wrong, you need a custom map instead.

i have mine set to 7,800 total standard engine with jenveys and omex, it has raced on this engine for the last 2 years never had a problem only time was when a novice driver decided to change down for 4 to 2 coming it to a 3rd gear band , novice driver and a sequential box ment a large hole in the head . after saying this next time i take it for a blast it'll throw a rod or somethink just my luck at the mo.

Yeah 100% it would have cams when I sort the head out and either go turbo or throttle bodies.

Just wanted a higher RPM with the RS Tuner map, matched inlet, bmc filter and exhaust.

Its running 162.5bhp now so wanted to eek a little more out before a big rebuild.

Why is a standard valve more likely to fail rather then spring or follower?

Where did you purchase your valves? I saw some KTEC supplied and I thought they were on the pricey side.

I bought a few sets in from the states in one go. Half the price of paying ktec tax.
The standardvalves are two piece and the join fails.

You need to decide on a spec first not starting bolting on random bits. You dot want hot cams if you turbo for example.

It is quite dear and its also not a five mins job to do the valves either.

The rod bolts are cheap and very easy though.

What would you class as random bolt ons? I'm just going to do the bits Iv said and then have some fun at a couple track days before going for a bit overhaul during winter and focussing on either bodies or turbo. Iv owned turbos before though so I think I might go throttle bodies route this time.

Well the cams for example no good fitting hot cams if you then want to turbo it for example.

And you will end up spending loads of money on keep getting it mapped if you keep changing the spec.

Your car so your choice, but Im just saying that in my experience people who just do it once to a decent spec spend less and get more for their money
