Roof re-trim.....

Anybody done one on here, if so how was it done? Pro/DIY im after retriming my roof, sunvisor's and A pillars in Red Vinyl and dunno weather its worth getting a pro to do it or to have a wack my self.

how would you do it yourself?

take it out, take trim's off it then get the vinyl n lay it over the roof lining to get a mesurment of how much id need. once thats done get a trusty knife n cut so much off remebering to leave enough for a little bit of play in the vinyl then get a special material glue n go about covering the roof lining in it. once thats all done spray the trims same colour as the vinyl n put everything back in.

thats just a ruff guess lol

Good luck doing it, if you do do it, then makesure you take LOTS of pics, befores, how to during and finally the afters. Would make a good read to see how its done.

Nay im not a pimp lol i just like euro and i want to be different and how many clio's do you see with red interior roof's? (and b4 you say it "cos it will look crap") i on the other hand dissagree its better than light grey. it will look good! it's that or the same in black.

yea see i would but theres way to much black the cars black n i want to eventually put red leather seat's in the car so red roof would look the shiz so thats the reason for red

I saw a clio extreme with red interior parts inc seats! though they were fitted as standard!

Looked fine, but I dont like the sound of your ideas.. but each to their own is what I say!

My son re-trimmed his own roof lining in his Polo. He took the roof lining out , it was a one piece moulded roof and trimmed it with a layer of very thin lining sponge and then the Zebra skin fabric was glued using spray adhesive. He then buttoned it using chrome buttons as he wanted an old skool look for it.

I've thought about dying my roof lining darker and retrimming the Front Pillars in Alacantara, My Ex GF's Dad's BMW had a Black Roof Lining and I just thought it looked so much better than Light Grey

I had my doorcards of the dci (previous car) done in Black Vinyl & Charcoal Alcantara to match my boot.

Also have my A-pillars done in the Charcoal Alcantara with my tweeters mounted.
I'm getting the headcloth & parts of the dash done to match when the doorcards etc go into the current car
