i got a Belkin 54G the other day, its sat upstairs in the spare room, downstairs in the living room i get about 80% signal, in the kitchen it can be 40%, sometimes nothing
if your in an open plan office you wont have any problem with signal, if you have dividing walls id get something with enhanced signal range, in fact if work are paying, get the most expensive one !
ADSL or Cable?
If it's ADSL, Cisco 877 would be first choice followed by the Netgear DG834.
If it's cable, get ADSL and get the Cisco 877 or the Netgear DG834
As said, Cisco won't be in PC World..but the Netgear should be.
Don't be fooled by the Netgear tho.. if you don't do VPN termination on it, they're stupidly solid for the money.
Thing is tho, as you're doing VoIP etc.. you could do with one with QoS to prioitise the VoIP traffic so you don't get break ups if somone maxes the connection whilst you'r on the phone.. the Cisco 877 would do that - the Netgear wouldn't.. something to think about.
If you're serious about using VoIP, you need a serious router with some configurability.
