Re: Roy's Shed - Esploding in Anthracite
I think on white, you get away with it. Certainly the only colour that suits it. But i think in a few months, you'll see one with silver wheels and realise your wheels looks smaller, and dirtier.
And what's that, you bought expensive APs and are not planning to track day it? I like the way you say its expensive to run, but are considering getting a track toy. That is 300% MATHS.
Yeah they do look a bit smaller but I like that. Makes it look more 'motorsport' IMO
Personally I've never understood the logic when people say anthracite looks dirty. Well yeah, it does when it's dirty. Silver wheels look dirty after 100 yards of normal driving. I suppose black and dark silver
cars always look dirty as well then? r****d logic IMO but you've got a really well designed face so it's ok. I don't wash my car thrice a day, so it's an all-round better choice for me. Besides, it's not like I can't change the colour again at some stage.
Also, RS' are so common now (I see 12 every day on my way to KFC) and I fancied a bit of a personal touch which, when combined with the epic brakes, I think I have achieved successfully without opting for the regulatory black-on-white. I do however understand that some people prefer silver wheels. I went through that phase with this very car.
It has already been on track BTW, if it matters. I bought the brakes also for looks, and have never made a secret of it, as the OE items look a bit lame, and it turns out they weigh about 100kg per corner
As for the 300% maths, you're right, but considering that consumables for the heap are at
least double the price of what they would be for a cheap track shed, I doubt it'd take too long to recoup the costs. Then there's the fact that I kinda like the Focus, and I'd be happier battering a car that I don't really care about. Insurance, Brenching it into the armco etc. etc. So many reasons to get another car for track. That's if I ever decide to of course.
Anyway thanks for everyone's opinions so far. Glad to see there's not too much hate
