RPM at Launch???

Was trying different RPM on Wednesday, and found that launching at 4500 give the best pull off, whats the general consensus?

What car mate? Anything over 2k on mine and it spins like a fooker. Mind you it does anyways....

Depends how you release the clutch as to how much revs works best. Obviously you've found that 4500 works perfect the way you do it.

MK1 2.0 cliosport.
I have been launching at 2000/2500 the week b4 and I felt the car could do better of the line.I started at 3000 against a Fiesta ST, and he outlaunched me and had me by about a car on the 1/4 mile.
I then started playing with the revs and clutch, and found that btween 3500 and 4500 works better, mabe I should try a little higher?
Anyway,after about 4-5 runs my car started to idle rather high( 5000RPM???) and when parked seemed to rev on its own, between 2500 to almost 6000....
What could be wrong?

Naw, that was my first run, and I had a kak launch, we raced 3 times , I beat him by 2-3 cars on the 2nd 2 runs.Also took on 2 other clios, MK1 and Mk2....pretty much even races, with me winning 1 and them winning 1(raced each 2wce)
Also ran a A3 1.8T with higher boost and xhaust, was bout 3-4 cars ahead...dude parked his car off after the race.

Ran a buddy with a Opel TS....ran infront till mid 3rd gear( bout 100, 110km/h)then he just flie past me...

What works for me is 3-4k revs, slide the clutch out then when it starts moving floor the throttle and slide the clutch the rest of the way out. Oh and floor the gas before you dump the clutch going into second gear.

Thanks Bear.I find if I keep the throttle planted firmly on the floor and just snap change that works best, will be at Westbank Raceway again Wednesday, will try launching at higher revs mbe.
