yes the rs inlets are better but still every one is different

mine is a cup.. did'nt have this one ! (2003, 172)

Somewhere during the 172 ph2 they switched to all being RS inlets. My Oct 2002 172 cup doesn't have one.

Compare the gasket to the head ports and the manifold ports. If the manifold ports are much smaller than the head ones matching will help.
