RS seatbelt pretensioner and aftermarket seat issue?

  Mini JCW
How easy is it to take the pretensioner off my existing 172 cup seats and use these on a set of cobra subframes + cobra misanos? Are there any issues in doing this? As from the following link :

http://www.cliomods.com/styling/fittingrecaros/

I've found the following quote :

There is an the microswitch on the tunnel side rail of the driver’s seat as described above. Unfortunately Renault have riveted it after passing the cable through the seat frame and the only way to remove it is to drill the rivet and redo it, or cut the wires and then solder them.

and am a little confused as to how to go about this?

Cheers

no its very easy. just as long as you get a bit welded on to the subframe so u can bolt teh pretentioner to it. you will then need to plug a resisitor into the airbag sensor so that the aibag light doesnt come on

Right then, i've collected the seats and below is what I presume installation entails :

  • Disconnect battery (neccessary for pretensioner?)
  • Jack the car up, remove the bolts securing the subframes
  • Remove plastic from the base of original seats, and remove the bolts securing the seat to the subframe
  • Remove Pre-tensioner from the seat (is it secured to the seat or the chassis?) by breaking the rivet securing it (is this neccesary or is there a tool to do this).
  • Do any wires have to be cut on the pretensioner or can it simply be rebolted to the cobra subframes?
  • Re-attach these to the new subframes, re-attach the new frames and seats to the car.
Anything else i've missed?
