RS Tuner - Delighted!!

  Clio 182 Trophy. No. 189
Hi all,

Managed to get Performance map installed to ECU today and must say i'm so glad I went for this. Seemed a bit too technical at first but was actually very straight forward.

Since installing the RON98 map the car is totally transformed! Immediate reaction was a downer as the car seemed to have a lag when pumping the accelerator pedal. Left the car to warm up and took it round the block and boy what a difference.

Car idles so much better and sounds lively when ticking over rather than lumpy hunting idle. Also seems to pull throughout the rev range so much better (mine has felt gutless of late and does not have the 5k 'kick'). Rev limit also increased which was a bit strange at first.

Overall a must i'd say for only a low price for those of you who are tempted.

Im asking for money for my birthday and xmas and getting myself one of these :D

Also very useful to detect any faults logged on the ECU. The car feels so much smoother to drive and when cold it does not have that restricted feel. This weekend I have managed to get this remap and a full service (not belts) for £100 all in :)

The RS Tuner sell on for same price as you buy so a very good deal tbh!

Friend of mine did service (owns his own grg) and I sourced all the bits. Just the 2 belts and tensioners to do next............

  Looking for 182
It's easy enough to do, but mine took a good 30-45 minutes, which included backing up and uploading the new map. It's quite boring sitting there waiting for it to finish :p

Easy enough then. May be a daft question. Im wanting to get the car mapped in the next couple of months. What road is best to go down- RS tuner? Or just book the car in to RS Tuning in leeds? Obviously the slightly cheaper option would be the tuner

RS tuner is more than slightly cheaper, overall costs are about £50 if you plan on selling it on. If your car is near enough standard its the most cost effect remap. Although the better map would more than likely be RS Tuning but will it be £200 better? Added bonus is you get a rolling road print out also.

Taking it to RS tuning in Leeds would be better, as you would get a 'live' map.

Well that's what I am going to take mine to be re mapped.

Mines not standard though. Its got a ktec decatted stealth exhaust and jms induction kit. No mad mods but with that in mind, would it be a better idea to go with a tunning company like RS as apposed the RS tuner route?

Not going to be much of a difference with those mods tbh on a custom map over an rst.

it is easy so long as you read info correctly. It can take a while to dl/ul. Worth it though as the car feels much better through the range. Just make sure you download the correct .cal and .rst from fastchip.

I'm planning to buy the RS Tuner soon...do I have to pay attention to the version if I buy a used one?
I don't have many mods, just 182 manifold, sport kat, k-tec mild steel and k-tec foam filter.
I usually use 95 ron fuel for costs reason as I do 75 miles everyday to go to work. Is that a problem or I can specify that when I order the map?

We have a very good rolling road at work so I plan to put the car on it before and after the map and see what happens... I'll take a few videos of idle and of acceleration too!

It will work but it's not optimum. I think that Henk wrote something like that.

Try 20-60mph in 3th gear berofe and after. I didn't but it's probably faster. And i'd love to see dyno before/after although i know it's not top end that is better but low down torque.

Sorry for my English.

Ahah yes I live somewhere between Brescia and Mantova, I often go to the Garda lake, but it's been a while since the last time I went to Gardaland.
