Rs tuner ,launch control.

Well i have just uploaded the 98 ron map to the clio and it does idle alot better but i can not drive the car yet as it is having some work done on it.

The lad i bought it of said it does launch control (old style rs tuner) now i was just wondering is it an extra map i need to buy or will it already be on the car now ???

Think it limits rpm to about 4k in 1st. Try a launch with the clutch down then release the clutch. If the revs are holding at 4k you've got it.

I've got an old RST with the 98RON map and I don't have launch control,
if I dump the clutch at 4k rpm it just lights up the tyres.

You'll need the 98ron_launch_control map. It doesn't come on the normal 98ron map

It's not worth it. I had it and you look like a right bell end when utilising it, especially if you've got a loud exhaust.

I have a standard exhaust so wont be loud and i just fancied it , just tried it then to see if i have it. Foot on clutch in first gear and it revved above 4k so does any one know how much the launch control map is ??

Car needs to be up to temp before Launch control will work. The map has launch control in the name of the file, mine does anyway!

It is pretty silly, rather hilarious to do it at the lights next to a super quick corsa innit, then pull away incredibly slowly while they light up their 135/90/13s

yer , idles alot better aswell, it does move but scrubs like mad,im waiting for my sacers to come and then i can raise it up and stick them on , i need to get some 10mm longer bolts aswell

no it won't work and wouldn't bother trying, 172 and 182 maps are not interchangeable between the two

Plus that is just the 182 98ron map not the launch control version iirc.
