RS Tuner maps

Hi I have just bought a RS Tuner and im aware i will need a unlock code for it to work..

I have the 98 ron map that i bought for my 182

can i use that map with the 172 or are they different?

When I did mine years ago the map number had to match the cars vin number, otherwise you'd ruin your ecu, not sure if it's the same these days, what's the code number of your map?

8200_7804 i think is the number on the .rst file i have?

i have all the 182 maps.. launch control, 98 ron and pop and bang... not that id use the pop and bang now haha!

Now check the first part of your vin to see if the numbers match.

Iirc majority of 172 maps ive come across are 6500 or 7300

182 tend to be the 8200_7804 as you mentioned above.

Is the rstuner new or a pretty old one

Ahhhhh I'm guessing this wouldn't be compatible then !

No none of the 182 maps you've got would work.

The map doesn't match the vin? It has to be the right version for the for your ecu that is all as I understand it. The rs tuner module gets locked to your vin, the ecu firmware number is usually upgraded and then a map /callibration that corresponds/matches to that
