RS tuner power delivery 1*2??

Had my Rs map on for a month or so now, noticed immediate difference in drivability and really pleased.

I never thrash my car really, and never rev it right out, but for whatever reason when entering the dual carriageway the other day I decided to rev it out for a change. To my surprise there was a very noticeable kick at about 7k I think, just after the gear change light thing pops up. Felt like a proper power surge!
Anyone else get this and is it normal?!
5k kick smoothed out but right at the end of the range it really surged!
