RS Tuner - unable to connect to PC

Hi, I have taken delivery of a new RStuner but I can't get the RSTuner app to see the Fastchip VCI. I think it needs a driver.

I also can't update the firmware as I get a message saying 'unable to switch Fastchip VCI to firmware update mode'

My laptop is a Sony Vaio TX series running Vista.

Has anyone any advice? I'm keen to get mapped this weekend

Is the laptop on full performance mode? Make sure your USB hubs / devices aren't set to turn off to save power etc..

It's on high performance mode. It sees the device but can't find a driver for it. I've tried deleting the driver and re-adding but nothing seems to work. It's probably a vista thing

Have you run the install in admin mode? You should consider upgrading to W7. SRS

Connect the interface through USB. Click setup.exe of RSTuner software. Done.

^^^same problem as me! i cannot see the fastchip vci, i am using mac os x and running vm fusion with windows 7
