I understand If I buy a 2nd hand rstuner It needs unlocking (if currently locked)

What happens if I buy one for a different car?

EG - I have a k4m 1.6 16v

and what happens if I buy one locked to a 172/182? How much will it cost me to get it to work on mine?

^ i dont think it works for the lesser models, but i could be wrong, Whats the beginning of your VIN ? should be like CB05 etc, theres a list on fastchip's site which shows what it works for..
