Running Problem with OMEX

  V6 Exige, GTR R35
yours was broken when Chris had it, it couldn't go round right hand corners without cutting out!

what has that got to do with Omex or anything for that matter? Your not seriously suggesting that's also down to the ECU? Since I've had it it's been reliable as funk.

just for the record chris's car was in the same time as mine getting the omex done, he had more issues than me at first i believe.

maybe all the time the car spent in bits at gdi it got water ingress - just a thought?

or maybe it got damaged by that big connector box flapping about my engine bay after i picked the car up - that post has been deleted so im guessing im not allowed to tell that story either!!

since I've had it there's not been a problem, you dont sound too sure either about what was actually up with the car either and seem to be guessing.

as for water ingress, unlikely, as the cars stay inside the workshop and iirc they dont power wash them ;)

youv had your fair share of probs with that car mate.....not that youd let anyone know the full extent.....but u cant say its been trouble free.

fuel line and sensors, it's been off the road less than a week in total and I'd hardly blame GDI for sensors failing

To me that's trouble free, I've not spent thousands fixing it, anywhere near for that matter. The alarm, tracker etc was still the single most costly thing I've done

whos blaming anyone???

gettin a bit too defensive there mate lol...i neer said owt about anyone......just that youd had problems....which u have.

fair enough Jon lad, just thought it was another dig as seems customary with folk on here at the moment. My initial problem was well documented as people know, I've never said I've not had any problems at all with it, just nothing major or worth shouting about. To me sensors, brake disks etc are just par for the course when you own Renaults lol

oh, off topic, but do you have a pen drive or owt as I have windows movie maker for you, but it's the advanced one with loads of special effects and editing s**t! :)

Stoddie - you have a short memory pal, I can bring up a number of threads where you "got things off your chest"

yeah got a pen.....funnily enough its a cliosport one...from years ago....still dunt fukkin work ;)

and off topic again..but poss tonite ;)

Ive never seen this thread before, and its exactly the same problem I was having, did you ever fix it jesus or stoddie? did it go away and ive had to deal with it when its come back?

yeah was the crank sensor in the end, Andy diagnosed and fixed it in about 5 minutes of me arriving. Ric Wood had looked at it first as he's only down the road and thought it was the lambda sensor, so that was replaced and something else... cant remember now, was pretty much just after I got it, but was intermittent, wouldn't do it hardly at all, then started happening more and more, so chanced the long drive to GDI and Andy fixed it :)

He's got a pretty good reputation, does all the work on my mates Impreza and remapped that for him. It's okay.

He's in Davenport and about 5 minutes from my front door.

So is Kenny Brown in hillington ali, he couldnt fix my car either!

Hummm.....heard otherwise!

let me guess, they used the old classic of "well mate, it's been buggered about with from standard and I could easily do the work, but, we erm, just dont like touching other people's work..." ... which once run through Babblefishes "Bullshit to English" translator means:

"yeah we looked at it mate and don't have a clue..."

;)

he did point the finger at the ecu but Id told him it has already been fixed.

But he basically couldnt be arsed sorting it out and charged me 250 notes for the time to say I dont really know what it is...

it's like I'm psychic! lol

most places that wont want to touch other modified cars usually make their excuses, take an educated but vague guess and charge you anyway :(

Jon, thats an unfair view imo...Granted your probably right. But at the same time if i bought your bus (For my sins), then it went wrong and i took it to somebody up here, they made an attempt to fix it, it ran fine for an hour then seized... He could be liable for the damage!!! - Thats why most people won't want to touch it. Nout to do with not bein able to fix it!

you lot have got to understand its difficult to balance in a garage aswell, you could get a car in like that running aftermarket management with a loom made by somebody else etc etc.. you could have that car and 2 cambelt jobs.
you could spend days going through trying to familierise yourself with the setup on that particular car before arriving at the problem for which you can only really charge a few hours,, when you could just knock out the 2 cambelt jobs and make 3 times the money.
see what i mean?

Thats what defines a general garage like you spk of and a quality outfit. Look at IF motorsport @ knockhill. They run a race team every weekend and still have time to build the cars, strip them, set up for different tracks, do road cars like mine and organise the logistics side of things too.

The above organisation of a garage is neither here or there imo.

Too many fitter's now adays and not enough genuine engineers.
