Rust - warranty???

The drivers side arch on my ph1 172 has a wee bit of rust bubbling up behind the paint. Its only noticable up close and never really bothered me.

My housemate now wants a ph1 172 as well though, and when looking through ads for him i noticed one of the standard features listed was a 12 years manufacturers rust warranty.

Does this mean i can go into my dealer and get it sorted for nawt?

Appologies if this has been covered before.

Car needs to have full and up to date Renault Main dealer service history for it to qualify for warranty.

They are complete c***s when it comes to bodywork warranty.

slags.

not sure if it is a full renault service history.

All the history and docs are back at home rather than uni so i might nip back tomorrow and see if its all renault.

When i bought the car i remember seeing lots of renault paperwork for services but i think some of the more recent ones arent renault. Pretty certain the cambelt one wasnt done at renault.

Might have to go down and kick up a stink and see if that gets me anywhere.

If anyone has managed to get this done without a full renault history could they speak up please and let me know how.

Cheers guys

Like the man says . Your service book needs to be fully stamped up by a Renault main dealer and the anti corrosion check needs to be fully up to date as well or you'll probably find yourself pissin' in the wind if you try and get it sorted for nowt .

It also states that it has to be found to be rusting from the interior of the vehicle , in other words rusting from the inside out . I doubt very much any surface rust caused by stone chips or damage to the paintwork will be covered . :S

Cheers guys

I'm not meaning to sound negative mate, but I just don't think its worth your time and effort tbh.
