Loved the game. Dont have time for games now and they dont interest me anymore. But this one got me gripped. Great game and an even better storyline to go with it. Completed it twice, not doing it again. Must have got every single artifact and weapon there is.
Definately worth a play if your pc can handle it.

Ive just installed this after installing my shiny new ATI HD2900XT, and Im stuck withinn 1 minute! Some geezer laying on the floor is asking me to get him the medipack from a dead geezer nearby, but I just dont understand how I can do that

Well... I upgraded from a X1950pro, and its an absolutely HUGE improvement. Stalker was impossible to play with anywhere near max setting (on my 1680x1050 monitor), but this absolutely blitzes it! Super smooth with full dynamic lights.
Was going to get a Nvidia 8800GTS anyway, but thought Id go for this when I realised it had come out.

I'm using an x1900xt and it runs smoothly at 1280x1024 at max.
The game is pretty hard tho, im struggling on STALKER level :S

How far you got roy? i'm on the 2nd level where you go through the train station thing and out the gate at the other end, but there are like 5 enemies there and they get me everytime :dapprove:

Lol yes running away helps a lot!!!
The machine guns are aweful, and the shotgun has a crap range so i find killing enemies at range a real struggle :S It is quite enjoyable when u get into it, but not when ur stuck

That was a great bit. I just used loads of cover and the shotgun at close range. Dumped that once I nailed a few of them and switched to the SMG. Will have to do it again when I apply the patch though....:dapprove:
I agree with The Munson though - some of the point-blank shots should be an instant kill. I don't like how some enemies respawn in mid-room/building either. I've seen it a few times where guys just appear in thin air.

The only thin that I find a little poor at the moment, is the sensation that you're rolling around in a wheelchair. Everyone else always seems about a foot taller than you ffs. Most of the time I feel about 4'6" and some of the animations are turdtastic. Like the way the view 'snaps' when you crouch, not to mention that you only crouch about an inch.
It's a great game but it does lack some polish, which is not really acceptable given how long we had to wait for it. Still, I'm enjoying, which is all that matters, and TheBeast2 is monstering through it, so it's all good.

Actually srub that. The number one rule of game design is never to make the player feel cheated. I have never before, in my 34 years on this Earth, played a game where you can die during a cut scene, and then die every 5 seconds because there is radiation that doesn't effect anyone else. Loading up on health prior to a cut scene so you dont die during it? LOL whatever.
Garbage. No wonder it was delayed for 5 years. Far too ambitious, and they lost the plot when it comes to what matters - making the player feel in control.

LOL - 5 minutes into it hardly scratches the surface! You have to give it a chance!
It's far from perfect, but it's not that bad....

If a game doesn't reach out and grab me by the bollards within five minutes then I can't be doing with it.
