Safe mode????? *Help*

Does the clio automatically go into safe mode when there's a problem. Coz mine's got an electrical light on and it would rev past 2.5k!!!!!!

Anythoughts? I reckon it got wet at the jet wash, but i didn't do anything out of the ordinary...

yeah sounds like its in limp mode mate. Try disconneting the battery for 10mins and then restarting, sometimes it can just right its self.

I had this problem in my last clio (1.2 16v dynam), problem was eventually diagnosed as faulty spark plugs. But yes, the computer will throw the car into safe mode if it recongises a problem, the engine light will come on, revs very poorly and sounds like a dog!

Needs to go to renault for diagnostics. Unless anyone else can do it?
