Safe to splice more than 1 extra feed from the cigarette lighter?

Im sure its a simple answer but it just started to baffle me.

Im looking to splice the cigarette lighter socket to power 2 12v dial displays (Temperature & voltage) and possibly even once more for another dial in the future. Is this technically safe or will I be better off running a cable from the battery to an inline fuse, then from there to each additional item.

I also regularly use the cigarette lighter to plug in an in car phone charger.

Should be fine with all of them seeing as they are all such low current draw.
