safeDisc v2...

  Mondeo ST TDci
Ive got a judo cd here that i use a lot, as you can imagine its getting a lot of scratches on the surface.
I want to backup the cd so i can keep the original safe, but its protected by safedisc version 2.something. Any ideas how i can get around this protection and make myself a working backup ??

Cheers!

You should be able to back it up anyway..

I've had no problem with Safedisc4 as it is now.

Might have something to do with the scratches you mentioned?!?

You could try creating an ISO image of the CD on your HD. You could either keep it there and mount it or burn it to another CD.

I use a program called CloneCD, and that does the trick.
Safedisk protection, well atleast v2 uses bad sectors on the cd to prove its not a copy, but clonecd can copy that protection onto a cd-r.

Think its now made by a company called Slysoft.

Just make sure if you've got 2 or more drives in your PC that you pick the one that reads discs the best, as the ones that don't read so well will cause other bad sectors to be copied, which could render your copy unusable.
