Safety Question:

  Clio 197
I've had to use my "spare wheel".

It's identical to std wheels... only doesn't have a spigot ring to fit my hub.

I've fitted the wheel - with careful precision... and there's no vibration etc.

Is that safe enough (to do say 500 miles), or will I have to get a spigot ring to fit?

They've got different centre-bores... :(

Plus they're majorly rusted, despite dollops of copper-slip! I prefer the plastic ones (why fit metal rings??).

I'll just go to a wheel-place tomorrow first-thing... see what they think.

Question:

I tightened them TIGHT AS FOOK - could that break the wheel-nuts/damage the hub thread?? ( just wanted to make sure it wasn't going to collapse on me!).

Well your not really meant to, Ive snapped a wheel bolt from over tightning before, pain in the ass to get out! I think its 90 lb ft of torque you want.
