is the laguna 1.6 16v engine the same as the clio rsi 1.6 16v?

is the megane 2.0l 16v engine and gearbox the same as the 172?

Depends on the Megane engine as it had a few 2.0 16vs fitted. None of them are the same as the 172 but they did have a variant of the F4 engine fitted. Pistons, inlet and exhaust I think are the main differences between it and the 172 / 182 engine.

Nope. 140bhp in the Megane, like my earlier post to get close to 172 power you need pistons and manifolds.

I think K4M engines are roughly the same (1.6 16v) although some of the newer ones have VVT
