Long story short..

It means that you can watch one channel while having another channel in a smaller sized box on the same screen, normally at one of the corners of the TV. On some sets you can split the screen and bring up teletext etc while your still watching live TV.

i've had pip sets for years and never use the feature, its only a gimmick IMO

pip is great for me.

i have my pc running as the main picture full screen, and then i have freeview in a box in the top right hand corner.
