Sanding??? HELP!!!!

  Clio 1.2 16v Dynamique
Hey all

Im just about to start colour coding all the external plastic trim on my dynamique (ie door strips, bullets, front and rear bumper, door handles)! Just occured to me if ive got the right sort of sandpaper to smooth down the textured plastic. Ive already got an assortment of wet and dry (240, 600, 800, 1200) so was gonna use this. Is this ok? Will anything else just chew up the plastic?

Also, will i need to use the wet and dry when im painting? If so... when? After priming? Before the laquer?? Will i need a less coarse grain ie 1800 or 2000?

How do i remove the plastic inserts from the front and rear bumpers? Is thers a guide to this anywhere? Cant find much about it on here.

Last question. Intending on spraying the bullets too but not entirely sure what colour to go for. My dynamique is totally standard atm on the outside and is pearl black! Already have a can of iceburg silver so was just gonna use this. Is silver on black my best option?? What have you guys done? Opinions please?

Want it too look spot on.... tend to get a bit anal about these sort of things!!

All help and guidance welcome

Thanks guys
Phil

i used wet and dry, started with the 240 and worked upto the 1200.... then i primered and sanded that, but did no sanding after that stage as it was paint then dry then laquer
