Sat nav clio...

My clio has the factory satnav installed and I was wondering whether it was at all possible to change the headunit to something different? I have read they are connected but I'm just interested to see what anyone else who owns a clio with factory satnav has done!

Would I be able to simply just get a connects 2 and hook that up? As want the aux ideally!

Another thing... I have a huge gap under my aerial and it looks like the seal has just gone. Are these readily available? I know it's probably a headlining drop job but worth it to stop damp IMHO.

I did a connects2 install guide if you search for it. OEM aux I think it's called.

Really easy to do, I just don't know if the satnav plugs into the same slot as the connects2 ?

I'll pull it out tonight and have a look! I could always splice into it if so. Thats the problem with having a sat nav clio, noone has really modified them! I'll take lots of pictures for anything I do so people have references.

The seal comes with the base part (which is different to the cars with out nav) I seem to recall it's about £80 but I got one for a lot less once, but that was years ago. You could try screwing it up tighter, but once the base leans back & the seal goes manky it's time for a new one.

Might look at alternative seals or pieces of rubber/foam I can cut to the correct shape as I'm not wanting to shell out £80 for something so small!

I had thought about this but the rarity of having an original satnav is what I prefer! I hope to hold onto the car for a long whilst and this extra might help it keep better value
Yeah that's true. I guess the option is always there if you ever change your mind about it anyway.

It might not be £80 anymore, one day I was quoted that, but when I got it it was a lot less.

Had the radio out today, and im guessing I can't use a connects 2? All of the block was taken.
There was the blue connector from the CD changer, and then a yellow i presume that went to the satnav? I could always do without the cd changer as I dont use cd's.

Right, I've been looking at getting a connects 2, but have now seen most of the adverts state "this wont work with the 6CD Changer". I presume this means that my Cabasse auditorium tronic will not work with a connects 2 kit? Can anyone confirm this? Not much point my buying something and it not working!

If I'm right, the kit plugs into the cd changer slot meaning you'd have to loose the CD changer in order to have the connects2 kit installed. The yellow plug is for the display in your case the Satnav screen. So in theory yes it will work but you'll have to unplug the cd changer in order to get it to do so as the connects2 "pretends" to be a cd changer in order to allow the aux input.
