Satin Black Paint On Black Plastics

I see people have painted the front upper grills in Satin Black to great effect, so i was wondering has anyone painted the other black plastics like the foglight surrounds, rear bumper inserts in satin black too? Opinions, yes or no or just use a decent back to black product? If anyone has done it do you have pics to see what they're like.

Cheers

A few people have done all the plastics and I think it looks good. I would just be worried about it getting stone chipped which is why I haven't bothered personally.

I would personally opt for a good back to black product myself, I believe people on here recommend GTechniq C4 as a great product, but can't vouch for it myself. I tend to think spraying it satin black makes it too black, so that it looks a bit taccy.

I C4'd all my plastic and I'm happy with the look personally, I just think they would look tatty in no time after being sprayed once you get a few chips etc

I did the mirror surrounds and fog surrounds on my ph1. 5 trackdays, 20000 hard road miles and 2 years later they still look good. And I'm a terrible painter!

Just do it very lightly and build up coats. The less paint you put on there, the less likely it is to chip.

Gloss black ftw!

I did do it satin black previously which i got a very good finish, im not as happy with the finish ive got with gloss black up close, but i think it looks much better over all than the satin.

It does also chip, ive got a couple of small ones which is annoying, when it gets bad ill just take it off and re do it.
