Scan Guage 2 - OBD port advice

I have had a look around and are looking at getting a scan guage 2.

I know it will fit the obd2 port on my Astra but i have heard it will not work on the clio does anyone know if the Mk2 172 has a obd 2 port or if it works on the mk2 clio that we have?

What is this CAN-BUS Protocol.

It has an OBD port.

It will clear lights but there not much use only decient oens are the proer Renault ones at £5k even Snap on has loads of weeknesses at £3K.
