Seeing as you seem to know this.. why is dvi (what is dvi :S) and hdmi better tham component? How can you get better than the individual colours?

my Hd tvs quality is shocking ...you may remenber me posting about this a while ago?

I got a better scart lead sorry forgot the name but its one that was mentiond but hasnt made much difference

Im thinking would this cable make a difference at all ? also would i be able to capture from a source to my tv capture card using 1 of these cables Scart -> S video?

Cheers

because component is analogue where as dvi and hdmi are digital and have a much higher bandwidth than component they can support 1080p component only 1080i

Just a thought on capturing

Does s-video carry sound aswell?.....or would i need a line in

Scart RGB is a million times better than s-video. Use a scart lead and set the source up as RGB and the difference is amazing.

Most TVs have two scart sockets, one that accepts RGB and one which is for the normal signal. Make sure the scart is plugged into the RGB enabled scart socket, which is usually the one labelled 'Scart 1'.
