I do love the quality of video people get out of the Canon 5D and 7D's :)

Seriously impressive to say that's been shot on a DSLR.
Would really like to get into video making, but I imagine it's very hard to get the style right. And you'd need all the rigs etc for smooth shooting - makes it look very amateur when they've been taken by hand.

Granted they aren't entry level DSLR's but I'm impressed with the results some people are getting out of them. It's up there with cinema quality footage you'd see in a film. For a lot of the pans etc and removing camera shake there will be additional (also not cheap) gear these guys are using.

Zooming can be an issue too iirc? As on proper dedicated camcorders they're usually automated, but obviously with a Dslr you'll be doing it by hand - tricky to be smooth.

My Canon 500D has HD video capabilities. It's sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!! As said above though there's a lot of extra stuff to be purchased when making these videos, lenses and the like, as well as glide track type things.

Glidetracks and decent tripods, It's something I'm trying to get into, but yeah it's hard.

Seriously impressive really for a DSLR, I'm tempted to upgrade to one to get back into video-making. You just can't achieve the same DOF with a video camera in the same price bracket really.

Re: the dolly's, we made one a few years back out of some guttering, a supermarket trolly and a cheap tripod - worked pretty well, lol!
