scrapping cat

looking to get rid of my cat as im in the market for a decat and after searching thorugh some threads on here it seemed over £70 was the norm.
after calling around a few scrap yards in my area the maximum I seem to be getting told is £18!
has the price of platinum really gone down that much or am I just not calling the right places?

I'm fairly sure that vala is in the motor trade so probably knows someone who may slip with the probe when taking a emmisions readings

How easy is it to find someone to do a dodgy MOT? I would try that route if I had a decat on my car.

LOL....and yes I do know a company within the motor trade who can let slip the emissions test...
