Scratched rear window

Hi the rear window on my 172 cup has an arc shaped scratch/scuff in the glass which the wiper has caused. Does anyone know if there is a kit I can buy off the shelf to polish it out, or if there is a company in the Buckinghamshire area that can do it?

You can buy Jewellers rouge or Cerium oxide that will help take out fine scratches. If the scratch is deep though you'll be polishing forever and a day .

Can you polish by hand or is it best to use a drill and buffing pad? the scratch/scuff isn't very deep

You can buy kits with a buffing pad and cerium oxide or use a buffing pad of your own . We used to use Jewellers rouge at work , but that was literally for the finest scratches and the glass was never like new . In the end they stopped using it . Give it a go , but I doubt you'll get the results you want .

The ebay link is just and example :

Takes time but works.

I just ran my finger over it and couldn't feel the scratch. Even when I ran my finger nail across it I could barely feel the scratch then either. So hopefully a bit of glass polishing will get rid of it. I will definitely give one of those kits a go cheers
