Seat removal and repairs...

  Impreza Wagon
The passenger seat on the other halfs Clio has died, it no longer clicks into place and a small piece of metal fell out the back. Imagine that was something to do with mechanism?

Anyway I'm wanting to know if the subframe can be removed so I don't have to buy a whole new seat? If so is it easily done?

take off the two side plastic bits with the torx screw at the back of each plastic mould, five bolts in each seat. remember and unclip the airbag sensor from under the seat. once five bolts are off just lift the seat off. but, in terms of fixing the seat, youre probably better buying a new seat, theyre enough going around :)

Will that remove the seat from the subframe?

you can just change the seat runner, doesn't take long, the seat bolts to the runners which bolts to the floor, i think there's a guide somewhere

I've seen a guide about removing the seat from under the car, seems easy. I was just hoping I could remove the seat leaving the subframe so I can have a go at fixing it whilst it's still intact.

Easier to remove the seat from underneath (I've tried both lol)

There are 4 nuts for each of the seats, the outer ones are hidden behind rubber grommets which pull off, the inner 2 are above the exhaust heatshield (there are holes to access)

All are 13mm, but you need a deep socket ;)
