Seat slides back when accelerating....

  Ph2 172 MB 77/468
Got my car a couple of weeks ago, im a short arse, so seat quite far foward.

Only everytime i accelerate hard, it slides back.

The seats had the 'lowering' mod (172 standard seats)

Is this something to do with the seat not 'engaging in the runners' properly?

Im gonna be whipping the seats out tonight, but if anyone has any quick fixes then let me know before i do that! :rasp:

I had this once but was worse, couldn't push the clutch in without sliding. Managed to fix it by tilting the seat as if to get in the back, then putting it back again. Unsure if it will work but worth a try.

I get this, happens to my passenger one which is quite funny for me to watch really. The handle down by the passenger door doesnt ever click back into place properly so the seat will slide back and forth freely until its pushed down.

Lol.

Another fun prank is to pull up the reclining handle when youre at lights or driving slow, then floor it. And rejoice in laughter as your passenger is thrust into the back seat, I did it to a short lass before and before I could look round to laugh her legs were in the air ha

I'm guessing they haven't tightned the bolts up underneath properly, meaning the bolts are free to slide back and forth in the holes. Does it slide forward under braking?

It doesnt slide during braking, but i can force the seat forward myself by pulling on the steering wheel
