seat wont go back properly

was cleaning my car yesterday and I went to put the seat back and it would go properly...noticed a black thing in the rung so pushed it in but it still wont go back properly.
anyone know how to fix this??

i think there is some kind of spring clip that can pop out, mine did this but it was more to do with the fact i had set it back as far as it can go, sometimes it wont click into place so you could try pulling the seat forwards from the underneath adjustment thingy and then slam it back into place. it worked for me

Iv tried that but it wont go fully back. think if I can dig that black thing out (which I think is part of the mechanisim) but its decided to f-off in the rung somewhere. or i could have my legs shortened by and inch or so.
do you think if I remove the seat I could sort it out??

My drivers seat always gets stuck i normally just shake it about until it starts to move again lol

check the wires underneath arent getting caught...(sounds stupid) but might happen...

also, there isnt anything jammed in the runners??

tried wobbling /shaking/ kicking and nowt happening. just the little black thing that looks like its part of the seat mechanisim is in there still...could it have dropped out of the seat?? as it looks like it should be there.
Nothing caught up either.

is this the thin black plastic stip in between the runners??

if so its ment to be there...

how far back is the seat going? is it just not "clicking in"?

yep that sounds like the little bugger..but should it just be flapping about??

the seat wont go back fully and it sort of clicks in though.
