secure interior door handle

  VW passat R
hi guys

just bought a lovely BG clio 182.

will get photos up soon.

only problem is the drivers interior door handle won't secure to door because metal fixing is missing, so nothing to screw the screw into?

can i buy this part? because looking at photos there is a plastic clip around the metal fixing? can i buy these both?

thanks

Hi Zach i have checked and found the metal bit that the screw goes into. but the plastic holder is broken? That holds the small metal bit to the door.

Thanks

It’s this that you need. I got this from a scrap yard. It’s a bit fiddly to get off without breaking it.

It’s really fiddly. You have to put your arm behind the door skin and turn and separate the metal piece from the plastic clip. Then prise the plastic clip out of the door gently without breaking it to pieces as it’s quite fragile. If you can imagine that the metal screw part is what sandwiches the door skin with the plastic part which then holds everything together as you put the screw in. When you see one in a door you’ll understand it more.
