Selling modified v standard cars....

If I was going to buy a modded car I would still consider a good quality standard one, however it doesnt work really backwards & modifications rarely return the initial investment-

high 3's for a non cup one

I see standard cars as a blank project anyway then when I come to sell, take all the bits off, sell them on and sell the car as standard.

I'm with Danny on this one. I sold the parts i didnt want off my car and it meant the new parts i bought were even cheaper

Certain modifications would put me off......like engine mods as i would be more likely to think it's been driven hard, wouldn't mind a good sound system though as it's usually the first thing i do when i buy a used car. i usually only do mods on mine that are easily reversible when it comes to selling on.

Buying modded cars is pretty good if you know the mods etc, as I would have spent the price of my 172 again on modifying it, where as I just bought one with most of the bits I wanted to do done.

I would buy a well modified car. I mean who wouldn't want to buy a 172 with KW Spec 2 Coilies, matched inlets and JMS induction setup for example.

me personally i prefer to buy a car which has some mods on as i know i wont be able to afford to get the mods when i got the car.

i'd much rather buy a 182 with a yozza and some eibach springs for example over a standard one.

Most 1*2's are at least 5 years old now, so regardless of whether or not its been tinkered with, at some point in its life it'll of had the tits thrashed off of it. I'd rather be worried about history tbh. If I saw 2 Clio 172's, one standard and one with the sheep mods such as intake, exhaust and coilovers and both were the same price, i'd take the modified one as i'd be carrying out these modifications anyway. When I bought my Starlet Gt, one of the main things that attracted it to me were the Tein coilovers, as this saved me close to 1k on something i'd of bought anyway.
