SERV light + failure of rear wiper ......

  Clio 182 Trophy. No. 189
.......... auto lights + auto wipers. Problems started after both front and rear washers failed beforehand.

Any ideas?

Thanks

They are but only manually. When the washers stopped the headlight ones still worked. Since the SERV light came on no washers work, nor auto lights, auto front wiper and rear wiper!

hmm...im at a loss...

altho my first plan of action would be to look at the fuses underneath the glovebox (mite need a torch) see if a passenger has dislodged something...(not the normal fusebox)

then mayby the fuses on the side..but i dont think they have anything to do with it...

Too many items there to be a fuse IMO unless something major has occurred.

Sounds more likely to be UCH related which will prove expensive!

is there not a light on the dash for electical faults??

ive never had one..?

the serv light might be unrelated...they have a habit of coming on...

Yes there is but from previous experience it usually indicates a sensor/coil/similar electrical fault.

I've never heard of the UCH throwing up the dash light but I may be wrong.

Thinking about it, everything seems 'auto' related, maybe your auto sensor has packed in??

There are at least 3 fuses for the UCH that ive seen when having a gander. Check those, maybe.

Went to play around with the car this morning and the heater was also bust - checked fuses behind passenger door and a small 15amp fuse had blown.

Still have no washers which seems to cause the blow - luckily I have a Halfords 2 mins for work to get some spare fuses!

Any ideas on what is causing this? Perhaps the washer pump is faulty?

Thanks for all the responses.

Fitted fuses and all working but still no water from the washers - pumps sounding now which they didn't before!?

Wondering if the pumps are sticking?

Thanks

Topped up so hope so.............unless I have a leak!?

Was thinking that about freezing but thought the fluid would have some form of anti-freeze?!

Got a pump from GSF for under £15 so will have a go at fitting it. Is this an ok job or a bit of a nightmare?

Thanks again.

im assuming the pump is just under the grill at the bottom of the window (passengers side)??? but i dont know...

water can be lost from the leaky xenon washers...

driving up here...ive had the pipes freeze...just under the bonnet...from driving along in the cold...even when the water in the bottle isnt...
u said the pump was whirring? so its not the pump??

all water freezes...eventually....i recon thats your problem..

have you accidentally turned of the manual headlights and stuff??
check the fuses in the little cupboard in the passenger door...easy to tell if a fuse has blown..and just change it/them with a spare one.

Connected the new motor to the connector and the motor now works. Only problem is I cannot get the old motor out (I have managed to prise it from the bottle), assume I have to take inner arch cover off and pull it downwards?

Hope this makes sense!
