no, it is linux based there isnt one windows distribution listed x86 is a instruction set not an operating system

You just download the VMplayer and run the .vmx I have it sat on a test domain here, though we use (an inferior) WhatsupGold product by IPswitch on our production environment.

i know i could run the vmware image but its still linux im too lazy to remember and relearn all my command line stuff

I use Nagios for system monitoring.. does the job but writing my own system is on my to do list.

Stop being lazy and get it learn't !

You don't need any cmd/console knowledge to run it. Takes all of 5 minutes to get it running, just do a network discovery of your domain, or have it query a DC and jobs a gooden. Rest is GUI.
