service affecting warranty

my clio has run a little over 18,000 and is due a serive. The thing is renualt prices are stupidly exspensives (phoned up and says it was £190). so i thoguht i ring up other places. i rang up a renault speicalists and hey do it for £115 so i thought i book it, but he told me that the warranty on my car could be affected ( im guessing because its not doen from the actually dealers) but isnt this a load of bull.

Does anybody know if this is true or not, im gonna ring up renault to see if this is true (but reunalt will probally rip me off and say it is true), but i wanna see if anyone on here knows much about servicing at a different garage and whtehr it affects my warranty?

Thanks Bon

I thought the EU stopped manufacturers insisting on cars being serviced at main dealers (under competition laws)?

  Mondeo STTDCI
Long as the follow the manufacturers schedule and use Renault parts the warranty is all intact.

Sport on.... Also has to be done by a VAT registered garage, apparently! (not 100% on this)

I dont think they have to be genuine renault parts either aslong as they exact equivilents.

they HAVE to be genuine Renault parts used, but you could take it to a Ford dealership with the parts
