Service Help

Hi,

I bought a clio 172 a couple of weeks ago and i have got service history for 10,494 miles and 21,835 miles. It doesnt seem anything major has been done i.e. only oil change, wiper change etc.

Now I was considering getting a service carried out as has done almost 30,000 miles now.

Is there anything I should be looking at getting done. When should the cambelt be changed?

Also does anyone know of any decent garages in the Basingstoke area who will do a good job?

Thanks for any help/ suggestions.

James

Cambelt 5 years or 72k (whichever is first)
Aux belt 3 years or 36k (whichever is first)

Your looknig at about £500 for them from a specialist (for the pair, not each)
I'd have them done asap & a full service too.

my local arnold clark renault quoted me £390 for the timing belt change.

^ you have a 172 cup, so unlikely to have climate control, so it's easier to do, therefore a fair bit cheaper.

Then they'll probably say £300 for the aux belt, so basically a lot more than a speacialist.

It's three years. As I said last time they apparently messed up in one of their books. My old man had his done @ 3 years, plus Fred says it's three years.

Well my service book says 5 years, and lemonnobby (works for Renault) says it's 5 years.

I've started another thread on it.
