Service info needed

Just got a letter saying my car is due a service, I got the car brand new in march 06 on a 06 plate and ive only done 6k miles.
I thought services were every 2years or 18k depending on what comes first. I rang and asked how much it would cost me and i was told £265 that seems abit steep to me.

You got another year to go before you probably need a service. (Depending on how many miles you do in the coming year.)

Just bin the letter, sounds like a dealer pushing their luck. Anyway I would use one of the specialist garages off here when service time arrives.

For a mk2 it's 18k. As Lee said, use a specialist not the dealer, you won't anywhere near that.
