Service light came on today???

  Megane RS 275 Trophy
Can anybody help with this, My service light came on today along with the ABS/ESP light so when I got to the next set of red lights I turned off the ignition and re-started the car and all was fine. It never came back on what could have caused it? I was'nt going round a corner or anything like that I was just on a straight road...........?????

  cock mobile.
Has it been serviced recently? Is it due one?

Take it to where it was serviced; they should set the ecu so that it doesn't come on until your next service interval.

I think that's correct anyway!

It was serviced 2 mths ago just booked it in for Friday as I now have another problem my cruise control's not working correct???
it comes on then just goes off then won't work again, but if I turn off the ignition it starts to work again for a few mins Hmmmm strange. When I asked at reception the receptionist said it may not be covered on warranty but cruise control should be should'nt it???

May be relevant, may be not. When I was driving my Cavalier, I noticed that my dash was lit up one morning before I set off for Uni'. All lights, ABS, airbag, ECU etc. I thought as it was cold, icey and wet that there was a bit of moisture somwhere. After a week of driving and around 200 miles along the M62, to work and to Uni', the alternator died.
It turned out that the auxillary functions were shutting down as they weren't receiving enough power.
Sounds similar with the CC.

the service lamp on the clio does'nt mean it needs a service, it means an item needs attention. i.e service lamp and brake caution= you fluid is prob low (your brakes need attention)
the service lamp always lights with another, same as the stop lamp
if it came on with the abs lamp, it probs got a b****cks signal back from one of the wheel speed sensors for a moment, hence it extinguished when you turned the ign off and on again and reset the system.
i think thats right anyway :)

It's been two days now and its not come back on so it seems to be OK it's just the problem with the cruise control now that needs sorting. The speed limiter works fine it's just the cruise I've got the problem with.

It happened to me probably 2 or 3 times already (in 4 years)... But mostly in rain or snow driving, when I was pulling hard from the light and then breaking..... Check engine light came on with ABS light and I noticed that my ABS was not working at all at that moment (it was breaking fine though)... Just after restarting the car everything went back to normal... Must be one of the sensors on the wheels that goes crazy...Never had any issues with that... I disregarded it...

The cruise problem *could* be the toggle switch on the dash clicking off. It's a known problem. In the CC position, it's very possble that it will toggle back to centre all on its own. As I remember its actually a mechanically faulty switch that causes this issue, and the fix is to replace it.

Cheers I'll mention that when it goes into the dealers on Friday..

Just got my Clio back from Renault, with the same problems as described above, and apparently they tweaked the brake pedal and it's all been sorted - we'll see! ;)
