Service Pack 2 - XP

im installing XP on a friends laptop tomorrow, will i need to put service pack 2 on or is it not essential?

He doesnt have the internet, its just used for uni work etc

Put SP2 on. It helps a lot on XP.

ive had / worked on xp systems without sp2 that have worked 100% fine. if its going to be used just for a wp and things with no internet why bother.

You need to have it for some things, can't remember which SP it was but bluetooth was a feature of one of them if I remember correctly.

its best to have but not essential.

If you have SP2 on disk or are able to download it then go for, you wont loose anything.
