set my alarm off

how can i check my alarm works? i have a 2001 172sport, carnt see any sensors and carnt seem to set alarm off?

close the door so it's on the latch but not tightly closed. set the alarm and the door wont lock as it's "a-jar" open the door and heypresto one seriously annoying loud chiping noise! well it works like that on my valver anyway!!

or wind the window down, then lock, then open from the inside
