setting alarm

Is the mk2 172 alarm supposed to beep when you set it or should you just hear the sound of the doors locking . The reason i ask is that on a couple of occasions on setting it ,it has beeped three times seemingly for no reason .

If it beeps, it means its not set properly. Check that the doors and boot is shut correctly.
