Sevice light on with traction control light?

hey people i only jsut got my 172 never had a clio before , i got i wired on and cant work it out can any one help ???

ok here is what happens , you start the car all the lights go out , then at a random point the service light comes on wiht the traction control light, and stays on till you restart the car then gose out and stays out for a wile then raondon come on again but cud be same day or days later , any one got any ideas , i asked the garage and they cant work it out at the moment what its doing , all breaks are you , and dose not affect the handling of the car , could any be able to helo me out thanks chris

There was something on cliotrophy.co.uk about this im having the same problem the now , I think it's pretty bad because the guy said something about a new rack and something to do with the ABS sensors.
Im going to try and dig it out for you.

thanks guys sound like the problem , as my break did not work right the other night either , oh how can i tell the type of 172 i have ,asi dont know a great deal about them

I had this happen a month or so ago, i re-adjusted the brake light switch, takes a couple of minutes and everything has been fine since.

abs sensors i had the same prob on mine

Only the 182's suffer from the old brake light pressure switch problem.

You need to ifnd out what error code is being thrown but but its comming and going indicates to me a wiring not sensor problem IMO which isn't as easy to find.

i had a problem like this on mine but the car also tried to crash itself, turns out it was a yaw sensor

Mine started with exactly the same problem yesterday. Cruise control stops working first and then not long after the traction control and service lights come on. It hapened every time I used the car yesterday (4 times) although I'm not sure if the brake lights stopped working. I'll keep an eye out for that now as I can't get the car to Renault now until next Monday.

Shouldn't take long they just need to see what the faul code is and then check/replace that sensor depnding which one it is or if its even one of the sensors depends how long it takes.
